Chapter 4

  • “Will you be my girlfriend?” I heard Hinn ask her and I could feel my muscles stiffen. I was expecting him to give her the flowers and get over it, but he went on with a long series of confessions about how he can’t stay a day without thinking of her, which had already bored me to death.
  • The funny aspect of it all was that Ivana looks like someone who was struck by lightning and I could tell her head was in the clouds right now as she looked at Hinn Carlos with big purples and parted lips. She must be expecting this, she had this thought all in mind after what I told her in the car a few days ago.
  • “Will you be my girlfriend?” Hinn asked again and this time a smile spread through her lips, she didn’t glance at me, she only had her eyes on Hinn Carlos, she must be in one of her imaginations, but the reason I was here was to wake her up.
  • Before she could say the words I already had in mind she would say, I applauded loudly to grab their attention and it did. They all shot me a glare as if I was a nightmare who had ruined their sweet daydream.
  • I stopped clapping and walked close to them. “Wow!” I exclaimed sarcastically, looking from Ivana to Hinn Carlos. “The both of you shouldn’t be singing, you should rather become actresses and actors, it suits you both quite well.”
  • “What are you doing now?” Kate said out loud and I turned my eyes at her and she pressed her lips together. I smirked.
  • “Oh Kate, I know you were enjoying the show, so was I,” I pointed at myself. “But as much as I would love to continue watching it, I still have important matters to take care of.” I turned my eyes at Ivana and sneered, she didn’t budge, she must have gotten used to my coldness but little did she know I was just starting.
  • “If you have important things to do, then you should leave.” Hinn Carlos told me with gritted teeth and I turned to him.
  • “Oh friend,” I crossed my hands over his shoulder and beam. “You are just so romantic and for a moment I was about to believe that true love existed, but you see, it doesn’t.” I took the flowers he was holding in his hand and looked at them.
  • “Hinn, aren’t you one hell of a guy, this was the same method you use on Liza in the States…” I looked at Hinn’s face and I could see his pleading eyes telling me to shut up, but it was more amusing when I looked at Ivana’s surprised face. Does she think she is the first to receive flowers and a love confession from Hinn?
  • How foolish!
  • Hinn was loved in the States by a lot of people and as a mini-celebrity, he had a lot of girls clustering him and so on, he had handed most of the flowers and even kissed their lips which I have noticed. Ivana seems to be the tenth, I guess.
  • I decided to stop in my speech since I didn’t want to spoil Hinn Carlos games, but it was better that he plays it with someone else, although I know he truly loves Ivana.
  • I left Hinn’s shoulder, holding up the flowers. I glanced at it before turning to Hinn Carlos, I was standing in between him and Ivana right now, she hadn't said any words yet, not that I was expecting her to. “Ivana stays at my place, and there are rules, this can’t be at my place,” I smirked as I lifted the flower to him.
  • I placed it in his hand. “You can decide to give it to her, but she should move into your place instead.” I turn my head to Ivana. “I will go in and tell your parents and my mother that you have found yourself a new home, how about that?” I raised the corner of my brows.
  • If eyes were dagger I would have been stabbed to death by them all. “By the way, I told you, didn't I? I would be glad if you move out from the mansion.” I smirked and turned to leave, taking a step forward.
  • “Robin!” I heard Ivana scream and I stopped. I turn around to see her angry face. “You are just an asshole!” She shouted again and I nodded.
  • “It took you so much time to discover that.” I pointed at her with a smirk. “You can just continue your love confession with Hinn Carlos, Kate over there still feels like watching the show, by the way, I have something to report so I would leave first.” I waved to her and walked away.
  • I knew I had ruined the show already, I knew I had messed up her sweet moment and tore it apart, Hinn would be angry at me, but I don’t care. They have made it easier for me already, I only have to make my way into the room where Ivana’s parents and mine are and tell them that we don’t need to keep Ivana with us anymore.
  • Before I could open the door of the room where her father lay, someone grabbed my hand and pulled me off the door and I looked at the nuisance and it was none other than Ivana, she pulled me over to the hallway and I brushed her hand away from mine.
  • “Don’t you touch me.” I told her coldly and wiped off the place she held as if I had been perched by a fly.
  • “Why did you do that?” She asked rudely and I raised my brow, waiting for her to clarify her question. “Why did you interrupt and ruin the moment, I was about to say yes to him!” she raised her voice and for a moment I could tell she was not aware she was in a hospital and people were resting in their rooms.
  • I exhaled sharply, touching my ears as if a fly had just buzzed. “I didn’t stop you, I told you to continue, I left and there was enough time for you to say the single word ‘Yes, but here you are, instead of staying with your prince charming who was about to take you to a wonderland full of flowers.”
  • Ivana’s brows snapped and her eyes were aflame. “Who made those rules?” She asked out of the blue and I blink.
  • “What rules?”
  • “That flower isn’t accepted in the mansion. Who made the rules?” She asked in anger. “Because in that mansion there are tons of flowers and the garden is filled with flowers too.” She ranted and I held the space between my brows, for a moment I had forgotten she was a lady and ladies were headaches.
  • “I made those rules.” I pointed at myself. “a few minutes ago at the hospital garden, why?” I looked into her eyes.
  • “Why?” She snapped.
  • “Enough with your questions, Hinn Carlos must be waiting for your answers, so go tell him what it would be.” I turned to leave but she held the back of my clothing making me stop.
  • “You were wrong.” I heard her say. “Hinn Carlos still loves me, all you said in the car that day was all wrong, he was hurt, but he still loves me, why do you keep on making me stay away from him, why did you tell me what you said in the car that day.” She paused and she looked up to my eyes as I turned to look at her. “I have thought it through and arrived at one question.”
  • I raised my brow curiously to know what her question was. “Go on, tell me about it,” I smirked while I waited for her funny question, but she immediately looked away from my penetrating gaze and stepped backwards, letting go of my clothing.
  • My brow wobbled at her sudden reaction and something dawned on me and my eyes dilated. “Don’t tell me…” I spoke and she blinked, still not able to look at me.
  • I chuckled as I walked closer to her and she stepped back. “Hey,” I snapped my finger to draw her back into reality. “You may have a question but why don’t you listen to my warning first.” She gazed up at me. “Don’t fall in love with me,” I warned her. “Because if you do, there will be no cure for it.”
