Chapter 92
- She and Emma hadn’t forgotten him, doing all they could to find a way to communicate with him. But she did not disclose this to Maddox, placing herself as the only one who worked tirelessly to find him. Erin had found an address, and she had chosen to hide it from Emma, wanting to keep Maddox to herself.
- And so she began sending him letters over the years. With each letter, she included photos—of their old neighborhood, of her, of Emma, of how they looked as the years passed. She even informed him of the happenings in her life, down to the miniscule things. Eventually, she visited him, slipping past his new life to remind him of his old one.
- And with every visit, every story she told, Emma’s absence grew more damning. Whenever he would ask, Erin would wear an odd expression and tell him that she doesn’t want to talk about it.
