Chapter 139

• The weekend passed, giving way to the beginning of another week. And once again, another court session.
• The morning air in the courtroom felt heavier than usual. The weight of it pressed against my chest; thick with tension and whispers. Camera flashes from outside still flickered faintly through the frosted glass doors, hinting at what would take place.
• After the fiasco with Mr. Carter, the case gained more attention, if possible. Now reporters were present, waiting to hear the next big story reveal that would come out of this case.
