- As the car continued driving along the road, and as the view of Saint Lucas Academy faded behind me, I felt myself sag into my seat.
- A relieved sigh escaped my lips, grateful that I had gotten away before Kaiden could put his hands on me again. But my form became tense as I thought about what had happened. For one, I couldn’t believe it had happened. I didn’t think Kaiden—or rather, the male lead and his posse —were the kind to inflict physical harm on a girl.
