• “What do you mean?” Joanne asked, baffled, not understanding why her sister wanted her to stay away from Finnian.
• “No one goes out of their way for free. It’s right and proper to be suspicious,” Tiffany sneered. “That little team leader keeps showing up to drive you to work. That’s malicious. I bet he’s trying to chase you. You’d better watch yourself. Don’t let that punk fool you.”
• “He won’t. Finnian wouldn’t lie to me. He’s not that kind of guy.” Joanne shook her head. She knew Finnian well—straightforward, honest. He picked her up because it was on his way. She didn’t buy that he had some ulterior motive.
