Chapter 59

• John's POV
• I had barely contemplated slipping away unnoticed when I saw Nathan approaching my office, but it was already too late. Nathan wasn't convinced, despite all the pretence I put on for him to feign ignorance concerning his recent arrest.
• We exchanged pleasantries in the hallway, during which he mentioned that there was a project to discuss. Believe him, I followed him into the office. As we walked, I already planned on denying my involvement should he mention it; instead, without any questions or warnings, he just went ahead to punch me, issuing me a stern warning not to ever mess with him. He even threatened to tell my father all about my illicit business deals.
