• Before storming out of the precinct in a fit of rage, I caught sight of Judith and Nathan entwined in a passionate embrace. The unexpected reunion between them left me flabbergasted, rendering me crippled and unable to defend myself.
• The lawyer I had hired proved to be utterly useless. He was just seated there silently, paralysed with fear. My carefully crafted counterarguments vanished from my mind, leaving me clueless as to what to say.
