Chapter 5 The Talk

  • Azrael POV
  • “Logan, that was good. Let’s try the frontal high kick now and you Jared will try to block his attempt.” I gave instructions to the two as I stood next to the trainer, Gareth, on the outside of the ring.
  • Logan and Jared sparred again, doing as I instructed them when I heard someone fast approaching, making me turn around towards the mansion.
  • “Az!” Damon called my name from a distance, making me wonder why he was looking like he was in some kind of hurry.
  • “Excuse me, Gareth, I’ll be back.” I turned towards Gareth, the trainer, and walked halfway to meet up with Damon.
  • Soon as he reached up to me, I asked him, “Is everything ok?”
  • He looked around frantically, looking like he was searching for someone but couldn’t find the person, until finally he turned his focus on me and said, “No. Where is M?”
  • Arching my eyebrow up, I looked at him like he had lost his mind, asking, “M?”
  • Rolling his eyes, he said, “Don’t start with that again. Marcus, where is he?”
  • Crossing my arms over my chest, I looked him over and said, “Marcus is in a meeting. What is going on, Damon?”
  • “Olivia and Lizzy, they both fainted,” Damon spoke fast and a groan sounded right after he spoke the words.
  • “Ugh…”
  • Damon and I both turned around to see Jared frozen with wide eyes as Logan was standing up from the ground.
  • “I’m sorry, Logan,” Jared said, looking apologetic while Logan just waved away and rushed straight towards Damon and me.
  • “What did you say?” Logan, wasting no time, asked Damon, worry clear in the tone of his voice.
  • “I said that Olivia and Lizzy both fainted in the back garden while they were with Talia. We both brought them inside the house and…” Damon was explaining to Logan but didn’t get the chance to finish his sentence as Logan rushed straight towards the mansion.
  • I watched Logan running like wolves were hunting him down, disappearing when he reached the mansion as I turned my eyes back to Damon who was also looking after Logan.
  • “You said that they fainted in the garden?” I asked him and he nodded his head.
  • “Yes, I was going through the back, walking through the garden when I saw Talia on the ground holding Olivia in her lap and using her magic to hold up Lizzy. She called for help soon as she saw me, so I rushed to help her soon as I saw what was going on.” Damon said.
  • I scrunch my eyebrows as I heard the explanation, thinking loudly, “Why did they faint? Did someone put something in food or drinks?”
  • Damon shrugged his shoulders and said, “I have no idea, but Talia is right now trying to figure out what happened to them.”
  • “We should go and see if they need any help,” I said as I started to walk alongside him towards the mansion.
  • “We have to tell Marcus about this,” Damon said to me and I agreed.
  • “I’ll try to mind link him,” I informed him as I dived into the link that connected me with Marcus and tried to reach out to him.
  • The wall he placed up was like steel and I couldn’t pass the message to him, which was making me feel frustrated.
  • We reached inside the mansion and climbed the stairs, reaching Olivia’s and Marcus’ room, we opened the door and I saw Talia looking up as her palm stopped glowing.
  • Her eyes landed on me the moment I entered the room, and before I could ask any question she said, “Could you both please step outside the room for a moment so that I can finish up? I will call you in when I am done here.”
  • Damon and I looked at each other, turning around and leaving the room.
  • Soon as we were outside the room, Damon asked me, “Did you talk to Marcus?”
  • Shaking away my head, I said, “No, he blocked everyone out, but I will try again.”
  • Damon leans with his back pressed to the wall, arms crossed over his chest as he waited for Talia to call us inside.
  • I used the moment, determined to break through his block, thinking to myself ‘I’ll reach through to him even if that is the last damn thing I do. Hell, not even fucking Sharms could stop me from breaking through their barrier when I was saving Talia.’
  • Shaking my head off of the coming memories of the past when I thought of that moment, I focused and pushed hard on the barrier that Marcus created, using a lot of my mental strength to break through.
  • Finally, I managed to pass his barrier and heard his confused voice in my head, asking me:
  • “What the hell?! Azrael, you know I am in a meeting with Longwood pack and Tumbrill pack Alphas…” Marcus said, but I cut him off without hesitation.
  • “Marcus, Olivia, and Lizzy both fainted not long ago in the back garden while they were with Talia,” I spoke fast and clear, making him shut up as he listened until I finished.
  • “Where is she?” I heard his voice sounding winded, and I knew he was on his way back already.
  • “She is with Talia in your room. Don’t worry, Talia is doing a checkup.” I said, not expecting him to say anything back.
  • “I’m on my way!” He said and cut the link as I looked over at Damon, who silently asked me if I was successful to reach Marcus.
  • I nodded my head, confirming to him that I did.
  • Not having any other choice but to wait, I leaned just like Damon, my back on the wall, and waited for Marcus to come first or for Talia to call us inside.

  • Talia POV
  • Using my magic on Olivia as I moved my hand above her, I focused as slowly my hand circled above her head, chest going lover making me open my eyes when I felt something.
  • The glow in my palm stopped as I rushed to the bathroom for the glass of water, returning inside the room carrying the glass towards the bed.
  • I could see right in time when Olivia’s eyelids fluttered before they opened and she was confused as she noticed that she was in bed and not outside.
  • “How… What happened?” Olivia asked me soon as she saw me sitting down on the bed next to her.
  • I smiled down at her, giving her a glass of water, helping her to sit up as she greedily gulped down the glass.
  • I waited for her to finish her drink before I answered her question.
  • Seeing that she was done, I took the empty glass from her and placed it on the night side table, turning my eyes back at her, and said, “You, and Lizzy both fainted in the garden right before we got to see Annie, do you remember that?”
  • Her eyes went wide as she heard what I said, reaching for her cover in an attempt to get up as she said, “O my Goddess, we have to go and see how Lizzy is.”
  • I stopped her as I placed my hand over hers, saying, “Lizzy is fine. I am sure Logan and the doctor are with her already now, but you need to rest and watch over yourself more now.”
  • Her eyebrows scrunched as she looked at me in confusion, so I thought of a way how to approach the subject. I asked, “Did you eat anything else besides those cookies today?”
  • Laying back down, with her back pressed up, she thought about my question before she answered, saying, “I made Marcus breakfast since he had to get up early for his meeting but… oh, no, I haven’t eaten then. I had to help one of my pack members as she asked me to just at the same time when I was about to eat. I forgot to take anything else after that. I guess I got weak because I skipped a meal.”
  • Shaking my head away, I looked at her sternly, “No more skipping meals. You need to eat healthy and take better care of yourself now.”
  • Her eyebrows raised as she looked at me surprised since I never spoke with her in such a tone.
  • “I’m fine and ok, I won’t skip any more meals.” Rolling her eyes she said, trying to ease the tension.
  • Giving her a reassuring smile which made her relaxed as she saw I was not mad at her, I asked her, “I know that you and Marcus are still learning about, still new for you, positions and all, and such titles give you both many tasks and responsibilities, but you two are mated for a while now and I see that your juggling with everything much easier than when you just started, so I wanted to ask you, have you two talked about having your own family yet?”
  • Her cheeks heated up as red was prominent to be seen on them, making her look adorable as she was shy, obviously.
  • Clearing her throat, she said, “W-we haven’t yet.”
  • I saw her eyes look away as she asked me shyly, “Why do you ask that?”
  • Chuckling, I reached with my hand and made her look at me as I said with a gentle smile plastering on my face, “Because I think that it is the right time that you two finally have that talk now.”
