- I couldn’t fight the security detail Logan had assigned to me. If I did, it would only reinforce his assumption—that I was being reckless because of my broken engagement with Adrian. That wasn’t true, and I wouldn’t let anyone, not even him, paint me as a woman who couldn’t move on.
- As Logan walked away, I called after him. “Logan! My father was one of the greatest business strategists of his time, and my brothers have built empires with their tactical brilliance. I may not have followed their exact path, but I have never let personal feelings cloud my judgment. I ended things with Adrian, and I have no regrets. You should know me better than this.”
