Chapter 374
- Hazel and Jessica’s faces tightened the moment I mentioned the Supreme Court. They both knew too well that Rafael was now heading that institution and that things could escalate quickly.
- Hazel’s eyes flicked back to the boxes of ledgers laid out on the table. “Since Eric betrayed you too, and you’ve had a chance to review the books, Jessica will need to examine them thoroughly as well. Leave the documents here for now. After we finish our review, we’ll come to you personally to reconcile the accounts. Once everything is clear and undisputed, we’ll forward the evidence to the authorities for the necessary action.”
- I took a slow sip of my coffee, a small smile playing at the corners of my mouth. “Aunt Hazel, you know me I’m not one for delays. The ledgers are right here. Why not have your accountants come over immediately? And if that’s not enough, I can arrange for additional accountants from Ironridge Estate. We’ll get this sorted tonight, and by tomorrow, the accounts can be fully reconciled.”
