Chapter 8

  • Henry's POV
  • As Jackson and Dan's blood-curdling screams pierced the air like a distressed pregnant woman in labor from the effect of the wolfsbane that was eating through their flesh and skull like ravenous worms. My hands, now lethal instruments, plunged into their chests, ripping out their pounding hearts. The humans' terror-stricken faces contorted in horror, their screams reaching a fever pitch as they huddled together in despair at one side of the bar.
  • It was quick and fast as their lifeless bodies crashed to the ground with a sickening thud.
  • My gaze shifted to Peter, his eyes wide with shock, his face ashen as he gazed upon the corpses of his friends. "What have you done?" he stammered, his voice trembling with revulsion. His eyebrows twitched spasmodically, betraying a maelstrom of emotions: disbelief, rage, and paralyzing fear.
  • “Ending their suffering. Don't worry I will offer you the same fate," I smirked evilly and I could see a flicker of fear flashed in his eyes but he quickly brushed it off and assumed a determined look as he frowned.
  • “You will pay for this. With your life!" He yelled as he sprang towards me with deadly intent.
  • Yes. Come to me. Will make it a lot easier this way.
  • The bottle of wine which had been diluted with powdered wolfsbane was still in my possession and it's toxic content was still inside as I only used some potion of it on his friends- Jackson and Dan.
  • Despite Peter drawing nearer to me in speed faster than mini seconds and with deadly ambition my eyes lit up in excitement as I saw his move as being very reckless. I will bathe him with the remaining wolfsbane.
  • It would be super easy, I reckoned but I would be proven wrong, totally outwitted by Peter's improvisation as he got down in time to pick both Jackson and Dan's body using them as a shield to block of the toxin, liquid wolfsbane I threw at him and the liquid ate off the dead corpses leaving him completely unscratched.
  • Clever bastard. I could have applauded him for this act of ingenuity but there was no time for that as he was trying to kill me and me, him.
  • With a proud smile on his face he dropped the two corpses that had now been completely disfigured by the wolfsbane.
  • “No more tricks, right? Now nothing would save you from me," he boasted as he extended his full claws and fangs out.
  • Truly an intimidating sight to behold, I won't lie. But I am no puppy. I am a fucking full grown wolf!
  • “I never needed saving and my promise still stands. I will end this quickly," I said confidently to him as I extended my claws and fangs as well, causing him to get really pissed.
  • He charged at me and I did the same but he proved too strong and powerful as his blow sent me flying back to the direction I came- smashing painfully through tables and chairs.
  • “Arr.." I groaned in pain, my head still a bit disoriented from both the blow and landing when a strong hand grabbed hold of me by the shirt.
  • Fuck!
  • Before I could react I found myself up in the air before I was being slammed hard on the ground.
  • “Ahhh!" I screamed out as I felt a sharp intense pain at my back.
  • “That's what you get for sleeping with my wife," Peter started speaking as he dished out pain upon pain on me through kicks and stomping.
  • This guy's leg must be made out of concrete or casted iron because I could feel and hear my bone cracking and I found myself screaming out like a little child.
  • I can't go out like this. When I haven't had a taste of Bella. At least once.
  • Peter lifted his right leg up in the air for what would be a fatal stomp to my head but as his leg descended.. I gathered all my strength in one blow and struck him fast and quick in the region where the sun doesn't shine.
  • I could have sworn I heard something crack like broken egg or eggs and Peter's face contorted, his eyes bulging.
  • “Ahhh." He gasped, his screams, strangling in his throat as he doubled over clutching his groin area.
  • I seized the upper hand, and adrenaline coursed through my veins. "You don't look too good, old friend," I sneered, rising to my feet.
  • Peter's face contorted in anguish, his words barely audible. "You fucking bastard... You cheated."
  • My smile grew wider as I slicked back my hair with a calculated gesture. "Yes, you forced me to break my promise of a swift death. Now, you'll suffer."
  • With a feral cry, Peter ignored his agony and lunged at me. Fool. Such a reckless move.
  • As his fist hurtled toward me, I unleashed a lightning-fast kick, striking the vulnerable center of his groin yet again. The impact sent him crashing down, gasping, clutching his shattered groin as if it held his very life.
  • "I despise breaking promises," I taunted, relishing the horror in his eyes. "But since I couldn't make it quick, death is still assured."
  • Peter's pleas turned desperate. "No, please..."
  • "My regards to your friends in the afterlife," I said, my voice dripping with malice. "And I'll be visiting your wife soon."
  • His curses died on his lips as I stomped on his face repeatedly—once, twice, three times, four—each blow crushing his skull, extinguishing life.
  • The humans watching recoiled in terror, frozen in horror...
  • Brian's POV
  • I was about to go out there and confront those two fools physically. I don't care if they outnumbered me. I was determined to make them pay for saying such nonsense about me, my dad and especially Bella. However just as I stepped forward, Bella grasped my hand, her gentle touch a stark contrast to my boiling anger. "No, don't," she pleaded, her soft voice laced with desperation.
  • I frowned, trying to shake off her grip. "Let me go, Bella. They can't get away with this."
  • "Please, Brian," she begged, her eyes locking onto mine. "If only you heard the things they said... vile, disgusting things," I muttered, my anger reigniting.
  • "I should teach them a lesson," I growled, but Bella's hold tightened.
  • "How many people would you fight for my sake?" she asked, her gaze piercing.
  • I hesitated, searching her eyes. "Everyone. The whole world, if I have to."
  • Bella's expression turned sorrowful. "I don't want you to. I don't want you to keep endangering yourself because of me."
  • Her words tempered my fury, but I still longed to confront them. I broke free from her grip and took a step forward.
  • "That's enough, Brian," Bella said firmly, stopping me in my tracks. "I did hear what they said. Painful and degrading, yes, but just their opinion. Everyone's entitled to one, right? Or do you want to take that away too?"
  • Her words gave me pause. I turned to face her, my anger slowly dissipating.
  • "Fine," I relented. "I won't rip their heads off today. But if I ever see them make any funny movies to you, not even you will stop me from ending them."
  • Henry's POV
  • When I was sure Peter's head was damaged beyond the point were his wolf's healing abilities could save him, I left him and turned to the cowering humans.
  • ”It's alright. The bad men are all dead now," I said with a disarmingly friendly smile.
  • “W. What are you?" The bartender asked, his tone filled with fear. I turned to his direction and his face was also oozing of fear.
  • My face went dead and I let out a weak sigh. “You shouldn't have asked that question."
  • “W..What do you mean? What kind of creature are you and these guys?" The old man inquired. It was clear he was frightened but that hasn't stopped him from wanting to satisfy his curiosity.
  • “There is no point denying then. You all saw everything right? The claws, fangs and all that, right?" I asked and the frightened humans that clustered together at one side of the bar nodded their heads.
  • “And you too, friend?" I asked the bartender. He delayed a bit before responding.
  • “Yes."
  • “It's alright. Today's your lucky day," I said, gesturing toward the lifeless bodies. "You've witnessed werewolves – four, to be exact."
  • Their faces reflected a mix of terror, shock, and fascination at the revelation and I could hear their chattering murmurs.
  • “That's why you needed aconitum_ wolfsbane. It's lethal to werewolves," the old man said and my smile grew wider.
  • I know exactly what he was thinking at this point. How to get his hands on wolfsbane that he would use on me.
  • ”You know I see ourselves being friends but sadly I have to kill you_ all of you in fact." My casual tone left them stunned, unsure if I was joking.
  • The bartender's smile faltered. ”Y..You are joking right?" .
  • I laughed, joining their nervous chuckles. Then, my expression turned icy.
  • "No," I said, and fear gripped their faces
  • “This is no joke.”
  • I could see the fear watch all over their faces.
  • “W.. What? Why?" The bartender said, shaking where he stood.
  • “Because you all will go out and tell others about what you saw and my kind want to keep remaining a secret," I said, using a playful tone though I was dead serious about killing them.
  • Desperation crept into his voice. “We promise not to tell anyone. Please you have to spare us. W..We are friends, remember?" Even though he is already old this man clearly still loves life.
  • Letting out a weak sigh like I was feeling sympathy for him and the other humans even though I wasn't, I addressed them kindly. “I believe you, I believe you. I seriously wish I can allow you all go free but sadly I don't make the rules. So I will say this; any last words?" I said and just then I transformed into my beast form leaving them screaming and scampering about to save themselves.
  • The game of cat and mouse began as I hunted them around the room one after the other- ripping heads and limps off for fun. And of course I left the bartender for last. It makes sense to kill him last since we are now friends.
