• Bella's POV
• I had been pacing back and forth in the large room for what felt like hours, my mind racing with thoughts of escape. I had gone to the window multiple times, contemplating jumping down, but both I and my wolf lacked the courage to take the leap. Or maybe my wolf just wasn't as desperate to escape as I was.
• Just as I was starting to feel like I was going to lose my mind, I heard a noise coming from the door. My heart skipped a beat as I stepped back, swallowing hard. The door opened, and I was met with a surprise.
