Chapter 61

  • The minute Hera verged into the shape-shifters realm, the first thing she did was to find a tree that she could climb, hide in and rest. She was exhausted and wasn't ready to begin a race especially when she suspected that Eric's men would come after her. She wasn't afraid of Eric's men though, the second her fist connected with their chin, she could tell they were humans and were humans. Hera couldn't deny that she wasn't shocked by this news. Never did she think that humans would also be in this, as the supernatural world tried their best to keep the humans from knowing that their world exist. It was why the realms were built, to separate them from the humans, so everyone got to live in peace.
  • She kept Cassie's host to her chest, looking down at the little humanoid doll every once in a while to make sure she wasn't imagining things and it was really with her. Her mind went back to Ryan, the only thing she could think about before she ran away. She didn't know what else to do, but she knew she couldn't live Ryan with Eric. Just thinking about him made her hate for the man increase with each passing second. When Ryan told her she was going to try a relationship with Eric, Hera had immediately been against it. She told Ryan herself, that she shouldn't use Eric as a rebound to get over Alpha Luca, her instinct just didn't settle with Eric. But of all things she could imagine, it wasn't him being a shapeshifter and working with the people behind everything.
  • "That bastard," she muttered. "He's lucky I'm still a little weak after they made us breathe in that breathe stopping incense for days. I tell you," she spoke to the host like it had life in it and could hear her. "I would have killed him. Rip his heart out and feed it to my dogs. Or peel his skin out slowly and pour salt or vinegar over his wounds." That's something she had seen her brother do once to someone who had offended him. Hera was still little at that time and she remembered the sound haunting her for hours, but now she wouldn't mind hearing those screams again especially if they came from Eric. "Oh, would I love to see him cry. What do you think they would do to Ryan? How can we help her?" She asked the host again. Hera sighed when she got no reply, like she was really expecting one. "We need to help Ryan, or at least get help for Ryan."
