Chapter 50

• Amber’s Pov
• My eyes fluttered open and the ceiling above me wavered. It was two, then one, then two again. I blinked sluggishly, my head throbbing as the world slowly stitched itself back together. My body felt like lead, sore and heavy, like I’d been asleep for days.
• My stomach let out a grumble that reverberated in my ears, hunger clawing at my stomach, twisting painfully as if it were trying to devour itself. Swallowing against the dryness in my throat, my eyes slowly took in the room I was in. Realizing I was back in my room, I tried recalling the events that led to me being back here, but all I got in response was a sharp pang in my head, making me wince in pain and give up on remembering.
