• It had all been a lie. She was such a fool to believe that the king wanted to talk to her. She was not taken to Devonlaire, instead, she was taken somewhere she was not familiar with. She was changed and injected with Rosemarie extract making her lose consciousness while they transported her.
• When Ember finally regained her senses, she was locked in an underground prison with only several lights to illuminate the place. Guards with masks guarded the entrance and her cell.
• She lost count of how many days she was inside that prison. Her body is getting weaker since they were not giving her enough food. Apart from that, Ember doesn’t trust the food they served her. She knew very well that it was laced with toxic herbs that would render her powerless and weak.
