Chapter 8 Ask Your Son

  • In the living quarters of the Hyde Residence, Genevieve and a elegantly dressed woman sat on an expensive imported couch. A table displayed an exquisite emerald necklace, clearly of top quality due to its shade and color. This necklace alone cost five million.
  • Charlotte Xylas had to call in many favors before finally acquiring this necklace. She intended to use it to gain favor with the mother of the Alpha of the Snowwolf Pack. She believed that by impressing Genevieve, she could become the future Luna of the Snowwolf Pack.
  • Genevieve smiled warmly. "Oh, Charlotte, you're such a sweetheart, unlike Celica. She always looks offended, as if she's suffering because she married into this pack." She genuinely liked Charlotte.
  • Charlotte was the most outstanding she-wolf in the entire Dawn Pack and the epitome of all packs' socialites. Moreover, she had made great strides in the entertainment industry and was now a top celebrity. She was well-behaved, elegant, and beautiful. Charlotte was the perfect candidate to become the next Luna of the Snowwolf Pack.
  • For three years, Celica had been married to Nathaniel, and for three years, Genevieve had been furious. Celica was not deserving of being a Luna, yet she held that position regardless. It was an embarrassment for the pack.
  • If it hadn't been for the reporters amplifying the issue, leading to other packs conspiring against the Snowwolf Pack, Nathaniel would not have readily agreed to marry someone he had never even met. For an Alpha unable to find his destined Luna, the eventual decline and extinction of the pack would be inevitable.
  • "Mrs. Hyde, you mentioned that Nathan is divorced?" Charlotte's wolf instincts cheered upon hearing this news. She could feel her blood roaring, thinking, Nathaniel finally split up with that b*tch. I've been waiting for years for this.
  • Genevieve gave her a knowing smile and patted the back of her hand. "Not only are they divorced, but he has also had his condition cured abroad. He can now come into contact with any she-wolves. He's healthy."
  • "That's fantastic news!" A spark of hope ignited within Charlotte's heart. When she discovered Nathaniel's allergy to she-wolves, she had hoped that marrying into the Snowwolf Pack, even if their relationship couldn't be genuine, would be enough. However, her dreams were shattered when Genevieve revealed Nathaniel's secret marriage. Charlotte thought, Now that he can interact with she-wolves and is single again, it feels like the heavens are on my side.
  • Genevieve could see that Charlotte genuinely cared for her son. So, she suggested, "Why don't I ask Nathaniel to come back and have dinner with us? It's been a while since you two met."
  • "That would be wonderful." Charlotte smiled, her heart leaping with joy. She began to imagine herself as the Luna of the Snowwolf Pack. The handsome, powerful Alpha would be her mate, and they would have a litter of powerful pups. Her heart raced as if she were a teenage girl meeting her first crush.
  • Genevieve was about to call Nathaniel when someone from the estate called first. Although she didn't live in the estate, she had many servants there keeping an eye out. That was how she found out about her son and Celica's divorce right after it happened. The fact that someone called meant it must be an emergency.
  • She turned on the speaker, and the servant hurriedly said, "Mrs. Hyde, Mr. Hyde has taken Celica back to the estate. He wants her to stay and has forbidden her from leaving. They don't appear to be splitting up."
  • "What? That b*tch came back? But she signed the papers! How dare she?" Genevieve flew into a rage, her eyes filled with anger. She may be old, but she was a Luna married to the Snowwolf Pack. She could radiate an aura as powerful as any Alpha.
  • "Calm down, Mrs. Hyde. You don't want to fall ill." Charlotte was also starting to panic, but she had to remain composed around Genevieve.
  • Genevieve snorted coldly and led a team to the estate. When the servant saw her, they opened the door. She stormed into the living quarters and roared, "Celica, you whore! Why did you come back to the estate?"
  • Celica was in the living quarters, engrossed in her drawing. She wore a white dress and held a pencil as she worked. "You should ask Mr. Hyde that. Oh, and to clarify, he's my husband."
