Chapter 2 Divorce

  • "No, Mr. Hyde's lawyer has arrived, and he wishes to see you."
  • Why would his lawyer come at this time? Celica wondered, then slowly got up to get dressed.
  • Meanwhile, the lawyer, Wyatt Lind, sat on the sofa in the living room with two sets of documents and a Montblanc fountain pen placed on the coffee table in front of him.
  • She walked over and sat on a nearby couch, asking, "Mr. Lind."
  • "Mrs. Hyde, this is from Mr. Hyde." He didn't waste time and directly picked up the documents on the coffee table and handed them to her.
  • Celica accepted the documents and, on instinct, felt that they held something significant.
  • As she opened the folder, her eyes fell on the large letters at the top of the document.
  • "A divorce agreement? He wants to divorce me?" The sudden news left her both surprised and puzzled.
  • "Yes." Wyatt nodded. "After you and Mr. Hyde end your marriage, you will not be required to return the 50 million that the Savill Family gave you as compensation."
  • "Is he serious?" Celica still couldn't believe it.
  • Three years ago, the Savill Family was on the verge of bankruptcy, and Celica's stepmother, Mindy Walden, conspired with her heartless biological father to send her to the Hyde Family in exchange for their 50 million.
  • She had expected it to take five or eight years to escape the marriage with the Hyde Family, but it only took three years to get a divorce?!
  • "Yes." Wyatt nodded. "Mr. Hyde has already signed it."
  • "Why does he want a divorce with me?"
  • "Mr. Hyde didn't say."
  • "Alright, then." Celica quickly turned to the last page and signed her name next to Nathaniel's. Although she had no idea why he wanted a divorce as soon as he returned, she didn't want to inquire further. After all, it was his decision.
  • This worked out perfectly for her, granting her freedom, and the Savill Family had no room to object. It seemed that Selene still looked out for her.
  • After the lawyer left, Celica happily prepared to go upstairs and pack her things to leave.
  • A servant suddenly hurried in from outside and said, "Mrs. Hyde, Madam Hyde is here."
  • Upon hearing this, Celica turned around and looked toward the door to find Genevieve Good, a woman in her fifties who still maintained her elegance, walking gracefully into the room.
  • Under Celica's gaze, Genevieve took the main seat on the living room couch, then slowly lifted her head and locked eyes with the young woman.
  • "What's making you so happy?" Genevieve appeared displeased at Celica's joyful face.
  • "I'm happy because Nathaniel and I are getting a divorce, and from now on, I won't be living here," Celica replied.
  • Genevieve had always looked down on Celica, who came from the Silvermoon Pack. From the first day Celica entered the household, Genevieve insisted that the young woman address her as "Madam Hyde" as the servants did.
  • Celica had no fondness for her husband's domineering and arrogant mother. After her response, she promptly climbed the stairs.
  • A hint of surprise crossed Genevieve's face, clearly not expecting that her son and Celica were getting divorced, which would make her visit seem unnecessary.
  • "Stop right there!" Genevieve collected herself and called out sternly as she saw Celica about to leave. After all, she was already here, and the Hyde Family's reputation had to be upheld.
  • "I came here today to ask if you have betrayed my son."
  • Celica blinked, turned to look at the displeased Genevieve, then glanced at the butler. Curling her lips, she calmly replied, "There's no such thing."
  • Celica didn't feel guilty about it. Firstly, she had never met Nathaniel, so there was no emotional betrayal. Secondly, she was also a victim.
  • "Still not admitting it? Go to her room and find the proof!" Genevieve clearly didn't believe Celica's words.
  • "Madam Hyde! You're violating my privacy!" Celica objected.
  • Genevieve sneered and slapped Celica's face, saying, "You, who the Snowwolf Pack bought, have no right to talk back."
  • Upon hearing Genevieve's instructions, the household servants quickly went upstairs to search Celica's bedroom.
  • Soon, they found the men's shirt that Celica had not yet had a chance to deal with and handed it to Genevieve.
  • "What is this?" Genevieve held the shirt, her face darkening as she questioned.
  • "It's a shirt dress I just bought this morning," Celica calmly continued.
  • She was determined not to admit to this, as it would undoubtedly lead to consequences for the Savill Family at the hands of the Hyde Family.
  • Although the Savill Family didn't matter to her, it would cause trouble for her mother.
  • Seeing that Celica remained composed, Genevieve almost doubted whether she had wrongly accused her. However, she was holding a man's shirt in her hand. Upon closer inspection, there was even an intricate N monogram at the collar, clearly a high-end custom-made piece.
