Chapter 5 Disgusting Drama

  • Celica returned to Savill Residence. As soon as she entered the house, Edward's angry words came flying at her. "So, you're finally willing to come back, you rebellious girl!"
  • "Wasn't it you who asked me to come back?" she retorted.
  • Unable to assert any superiority or authority as a father over his daughter, he immediately bared his sharp teeth in frustration. Without thinking, he grabbed a teacup and threw it at her with great force.
  • The teacup missed its target and shattered on the floor. A few shards flew, cutting Celica's delicate, snow-white hand, leaving a noticeable but not-too-deep wound. Her hand started to bleed.
  • However, she didn't react to it; she didn't even frown, and her tone remained indifferent as she said, "You called me back just for this? You've scolded me, so I'll be on my way."
  • With that, she turned and made her exit without hesitation.
  • "Alright, Edward, calm down. Don't forget the objective," Mindy interjected. She had been watching the whole scene with amusement.
  • "Stop right there!" With Mindy's reminder, Edward remembered the reason for calling Celica back and immediately suppressed his anger.
  • At that, Celica halted her steps.
  • "I heard that Nathaniel divorced you?" Edward asked.
  • "You heard right," Celica replied, turning to face her father.
  • Her confident response provoked him, making his blood pressure rise. "You little wretch! You will return to the Hyde Family immediately, no matter what it takes. You must not leave!" he ordered.
  • He knew that the Hyde Family was a lucrative alliance, and if they lost the Hyde Family's support, they would likely disappear from Lakeshore.
  • "Huh, do you think I'd be foolish enough to fall into the same trap twice?" Celica found Edward's words amusing.
  • "Cece, you know our family can't survive without the Hydes." Mindy, who had never liked Celica, had to put aside her differences in the face of their shared interests. She spoke in a pleading tone.
  • "What does that have to do with me? I'm not a Savill," Celica replied. Ever since Edward had betrayed her mother, she had severed all ties with the Savill Family from the depths of her heart.
  • Mindy, noticing Celica's unwavering determination to ignore the Savill Family, subtly tugged at Edward's sleeve, conveying her message through her eyes.
  • "Very well, I'll call and stop your mother's medication right away." Edward eventually resorted to exploiting Celica's fatal weakness.
  • Several years ago, when Hermione fell seriously ill, she required a high daily medical cost to sustain her treatment. To make Celica obedient, her father always used the threat of stopping the medication as leverage.
  • She was in no position to pay such high fees now, so this tactic usually worked against her. However, this time, she just shrugged her shoulders and said with a hint of helplessness, "What do you make of Nathaniel Hyde?"
  • Then, she furrowed her brow and continued, "Some fool who allows himself to be manipulated by you guys time and time again?"
  • With her casual tone, the expressions on Edward and Mindy's faces changed.
  • Yes, initially, the Hyde Family had intended to marry Edward and Mindy's daughter, Olivia. But Mindy couldn't bear to let her daughter marry a short and unattractive man. That was why she drugged and sent Celica over instead.
  • "I don't care; you figure it out yourself," Edward responded stubbornly.
  • Celica couldn't help but roll her eyes. "I don't have any solutions for you. I was kicked out of the Hyde Family by Nathaniel himself. Unless he comes and gets me, I will not return to that Hyde Family," she argued while she celebrated inwardly, for there was no way Nathaniel would set foot in Savill Residence.
  • However, Celica's happiness didn't last more than a second when an anxious-looking servant hastily entered, reporting, "Sir, Madam, someone from the Hyde Family has arrived."
