Chapter 5

• Nina’s Point of View
• “I want to know who has been abusing you and how you ended up on rogue territory.” I looked at Kate to see she was already looking at me. I was wondering if I could trust him, and I knew she was wondering the same. What if he made us go back to the Midnight Pack?
• “Um, it’s a long story,” I said.
• “I have all the time in the world,” Alpha Blake said, and I stayed silent, wondering how much I should tell him. I wished I could mind-link Kate to see what she thought, but I couldn’t because of my wolf. “Nina.” Hearing my name come out of his mouth made a shiver go through me. “There is no reason to be afraid. You can tell me. I won’t let anyone hurt you,” Alpha Blake said, and something in me told me that he was telling the truth.
• “Kate and I are from the Midnight Pack.”
• “Alpha Marcus’s Pack?” Alpha Blake asked.
• “Yes,” I said, and then Kate and I went to tell him what happened. We told him about how Alpha Marcus would abuse me, how everyone in the pack mistreated me. Alpha Blake lishted withoout interrupting I could tell by his facial expression that he didn’t like what I was saying. I could also tell it was taking a lot of his self control. When I got to the part where Alpha Marcus was planning on selling me to Alpha Jack Blake, he growled, causing Kate and me to look at him silently. His ocean blue eyes instantly became black, letting me know his wolf was present. Then, Alpha Blake punched the wall, causing a giant hole to form.
• “Who does he think he is? I am going to make him pay,” Alpha Blake said. Then the door opened, and a young girl around Kate's and my age walked in, along with a man who looked to be in his early twenties.
• “Blake, you need to calm down,” The girl said. I knew the girl must have been close to Alpha Blake. I wondered if she was his girlfriend. For some reason, I didn’t like thinking of him being in a relationship with someone.
• “You expect me to calm down?” Alpha Blake asked.
• “Yes, or look. You are scaring your mate,” the girl said, and Alpha Blake closed his eyes and took a deep breath before opening them again. I was relieved they were back to their ocean blue color because I knew what an Alpha could do if they lost control.
• “I am sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you,” Alpha Blake said.
• “Iit’s ookay,” I replied.
• “Oh, you have never apologized. I guess the mate bond is as strong as they say,” the girls said, then she looked at me. “Hi! My name is Lila. I am his sister, Lila said as she pointed at Blake. I was so relieved when I learned they were brother and sister. I looked at her and saw they looked a lot alike. Her hair was blond, and she had the same ocean blue eyes as him.
• “Hello, I am Nina, and this is Kate,” I said.
• “Hi,” Kate said.
• “Well, it’s getting late and I am sure you are tired Kate. How about I take you back to the Packhouse so you can rest?” Lila said and Kate looked at me. I knew she was wondering if I minded.
• “You should rest. I will be fine,” I said.
• “Okay, I will see you in the morning,” Kate said. Now, it was just Blake and me in the room. I didn't know what to say. I was too nervous to talk.
• Suddenly a nurse walked into the room. “Hello ,Dr. Sally ordered some more labs, so I need to take some more blood from you.” I hated getting my blood drawn.
• “Oka,y,” I said. As the nurse was about to take my blood I looked away. Suddenly, Alpha Blake grabbed my hand and I gasped from shock. I could feel pleasurable sparks going through my hand. I looked at him to see he was already looking at me
• “Don’t worry, Nina. Everything is going to be okay." For some reason I believed him.
• "You can run but but you can't hide. I will get you," I heard Alpha Marcus say. I was running in the woods. I knew I needed to get away before he caught me.
• "Nina," I heard Blake say. I was relieved when I saw Alpha Blake standing by the border. Before I could get to him Alpha Jack appeared behind Jack. He had a dagger in his hand. "Alpha Blake," I screamed and then Alpha Jack stabbed Alpha Blake in the back.
• "Noo," I cried as I got closer. Before I could get to him Alpha Marcus grabbed me.
• "Ha ha ha. I told you you couldn't escape me. You thought you could get away but you will never be able to escape me," Alpha Marcus said and then he took a dagger out of his packet and stabbed me.
• "Noo," I yelled
• "Nina, are you okay?" I looked up to see Alpha Blake sitting next to me. I was still in the Silvermoon Hospital. I looked out the window to see the sun was up.
• "Alpha Blake," I said
• "Just Blake." He had told me to call him Blake the night before.
• "Blake," I said and he smiled.
• That's better," Blake said.
• "Did you stay here all night?" I asked
• "Yes," Blake said
• "You didn't have to do that," I said
• "Yes, I did. There was no way I was going to leave you here alone."
• The door opened and Dr. Sally walked in. "Good morning. Most of your test results came back. You will need to take iron pills and vitamins. As well as eat heathy foods because you are malnurished. Other then that I don't see any reason why you can't go home. You should get plenty of rest.
• "Okay, thanks," I said
• "Once the other tests come back I will give you a call."
• "Thanks Dr. Sally," Alpha Blake said and she left. "Let's get you home."
