Chapter 4

  • Blake’s Point of View
  • “Mate!” I said as my mate was falling to the ground. Using my werewolf speed, I ran over to her and quickly caught her before she would fall to the ground.
  • “She’s your mate?” Sean asked through mind link
  • “Yes, I am going to take her back to the pack hospital,” I said as I shifted back into my wolf. Sean picked my mate up and put her on my back.
  • “Hey, where are you taking her?” the other female asked. I could tell she was worried about my mate.
  • “Bring her back too. I am sure they are close,” I mind linked as I ran to the pack hospital.
  • “This way, Alpha Blake,” One of the nurses said as I walked into the pack hospital. I had already mind linked Dr. Sally, who was the best Doctor we had in the Silvermoon Pack, and let her know to be ready when I got there. I followed the nurse to a room, and Dr Sally was already waiting inside. I put my mate on the bed, and Dr. Sally and the nurses immediately started checking on her.
  • “I need you to wait outside, Alpha Blake,” Dr. Sally said, causing me to growl.
  • “I am not leaving her,” I said.
  • “We can’t work with you in the room, Alpha. Don’t you want her to get the best care?” Dr. Sally asked. I didn’t want to leave my mate, but I wanted to make sure she was okay. I noticed that my mate's face was bruised, and I knew it was from the rogues. Seeing that pissed me off and made me want to kill that rogue all over again. I also noticed my mate was very skinny.
  • “Fine, but come get me immediately after you are finished,” I said.
  • “Yes, Alpha,” Dr. Sally replied, and I walked out of the room.
  • I went to the waiting room and saw Sean and the female that was with my mate in the woods. When they saw me, the female stood and walked over ot me.
  • “How is Nina doing?” So Nina was my mate's name.
  • “The Doctor is checking on her right now. When she is done, she will come out,” I said.
  • We waited without speaking. I was too worried to talk. I just wanted her to be okay. About thirty minutes later, Dr. Sally came out.
  • “How is she?” I asked before Dr. Sally could say anything.
  • “As you can see, she has some bruises on her face and now has a concussion. Not only that, but she also has some that are older on her body. She was very malnourished, so I had to give her an IV. It seems she has been abused for many years. I am concerned because she doesn’t seem to have the same healing ability as werewolves do. I ran some blood tests, and it will take a while for some of the results to come back,” Dr. Sally said. I was so upset to hear that my mate was abused for years. I wanted to kill whoever hurt her. It was crazy because I didn’t know her, but I knew I would do anything for her.
  • “Thanks, Doctor. Has she woken up yet?” I asked.
  • “Yes, she was very confused about where she was. I told her she was in the Silvermoon Pack and that she was safe. I asked her where she got the bruises, but she wouldn’t tell me. She kept asking for her friend Kate. She seems to be very worried about her,” Dr Sally said, and I looked at my mate's friend and knew she had to be Kate.”
  • “When can I see her?” Kate asked.
  • “You can go see her now. I would like to keep her here overnight. Just to be on the safe side,” Dr. Sally said.
  • “Thanks, Doc,” I said.
  • “So you are Nina’s mate?” Kate asked.
  • “Yes, I am,” I said as we walked to Nina’s room.
  • Once we arrived, Nina was sitting up on the bed with a worried look on her face. When she saw Kate and me walk in, she looked relieved.
  • “Oh, Kate. Thank the Goddess you are okay,” Nina said.
  • “Yes, I am fine. How are you feeling?” Kate asked.
  • “I fell okay,” Nina replied, but I could tell she was in pain. Nina’s eyes went to me, and I felt my heart skip a beat. Even with the bruises she was still the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.
  • “Hello, Alpha. Um, Th thank you for saving me,” Nina said.
  • “You don’t have to thank me. I am happy you are alright,” I said with a smile on my face.
  • “We will leave as soon as we can,” Nina said, and I walked over to her and sat in the chair beside her. I put my hand on hers and felt pleasurable sparks go through me. “Why would I want my mate to leave?” I asked, and a shocked expression came to her face.
  • “Mate?” She asked confused.
  • "Yes, don't you feel it?" I asked.
  • "No, I am sorry. I don't have the same senses as normal werewolves. That is why I don't feel it. I understand if you want to reject me," Nina said and I growled causing her to flinch from fear.
  • "I am sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I just didn't like that you thought I would reject you," I said.
  • "So, you aren't going to reject me?" She asked shocked and I smiled.
  • "No, I have been waiting for you for a long time," I replied and she smiled at me. "Dr. Sally told me that you had old injuries and that you were malnurished. I want to know who has been abusing you and how you ended up on rogue territory."
