Chapter 1

• Nina’s Point of View
• “You dare to steal from me? Who do you think you are?” Alpha Marcus said before hitting my back with the whip for the tenth time, causing me to scream from the pain. I was kneeling on the ground outside.
• “I didn’t do it, I swear. It was Lacy. Ahh,” Another hit to my back came.
• “You dare to accuse my daughter? Why would my daughter steal anything? She knows I would give anything to her. All she would have to do is ask. It makes no sense,” Alpha Marcus said before hitting me again and causing me to fall to the ground.
• “You weak omega. You can’t even take a whipping,” Alpha Marcus said, and he hit me again.
• “Stop, Marcus. You don’t want to kill her,” Luna Carol said, which shocked me. She had never stopped him before. Alpha Marcus sighed before speaking.
• “You are right. We don’t want to damage her too much. We are going to get a nice amount of money for her from Alpha Jack,” Alpha Marcus said.
• “What do you mean?” I asked.
• “You heard me. Alpha Jack wants to marry you, and I agreed. You will be getting married tomorrow,” Alpha Marcus said. Alpha Jack was Alpha Marcus’s best friend and the Alpha of the Redmoon Pack. He was old enough to be my dad.
• “Take her to the hospital and have the doctor take care of her injuries,” Luna Carol said, and two of the warriors took me to the hospital.
• My name is Nina Wright, and I am eighteen years old. I live in the Midnight Pack and am treated like that pack slave. I am an orphan and have never met my parents. Alpha Marcus found me when I was just a few days old at the Midnight Pack border. Everyone reminds me every day that I was abandoned by my parents.
• When I was younger I lived with the survants in the packhouse but after I shifted for the first time at thirteen they moved me to a shed in the backyard. My wolf is smaller than most and weak. I have had diabetes since I can remember and take insulin. I don’t have the same senses or healing abilities as normal werewolves do. Alpha Marcus says I am a waste and don’t deserve to live in the Midnight Pack.
• I was hoping that I would find my mate and he would save me but now Alpha Marcus is planning on selling me to Alpha Jack.
• “Alpha told us to bring her here so that you will heal her,” one of the guards said to the doctor.
• “Alpha Marcus whooped her again? What did she do this time?”
• “Tried to steal some jewelry.”
• “It will take some time for her wounds to head since she doesn’t have werewolf healing.”
• “Alpha Marcus said she needs to be healed tonight. She will be given to Alpha Jack tomorrow.”
• “Okay, then I will call in Hilda, the Pack witch to help,” the doctor said.
• “There, she is all better now. All of her scars are gone,” Hilda said after she healed me.
• “Good, I would have lost money if she had scars,” Alpha Marcus said. Alpha Marcus. Luna Carol, and Lacy came to the hospital to make sure the doctor healed me completely so that they wouldn’t lose out on money.
• “Well, if you wouldn’t have whipped her she wouldn’t have been injured,” Hilda said. Hilda was the only one who lived in the pack that was brave enough to tell the Alpha what was on her mind.
• “You need to watch how you speak to me, Hilda. Don’t forget I am the Alpha of this pack,” Alpha Marcus said.
• “How could I forget?”
• “Okay, that’s enough. We have to be ready for Alpha Jack’s arrival in the morning.”
• “You all can go. I would like to talk to Nina alone,” Lacy said and everyone left.
• “What do you want, Lacy?” I asked.
• “I just wanted to congratulate you on your marriage. I am sure Alpha Jack will make you happy,” Lacy replied.
• “Why are you always making up stuff about me?” I asked.
• “Because you are nothiing but a weak, worthless bitch. You don’t deserve to be in this pack. You should be happy. Like I said, I am sure Alpha Jack will make you happy. Yes, he is a bit old but he will treat you right as long as you give him what he wants,” Lacy said.
• “Nina, I am so sorry I am late. I just found out what happ…” My best friend Kate said as she walked into the room. “Why are you here, Lucy?”
• “I was just talking to Nina. I guess I will leave you two alone. I am sure you want to say your goodbyes. Alpha Jack will be here for Nina tomorrow. This will probably be the last time the two of you see each other,” Lacy said, and then she left.
• “What is she talking about?”
• “I can’t believe Alpha Marcus would sell you to that pervert. He is old enough to be your father,” Lacy said.
• “I know. I can’t marry him, Kate. I need to figure out a way to get out of this marriage,” I said.
• “Alpha Marcus isn’t going to change his mind no matter how much you beg. The only way to get out of this is to leave,” Kate said.
• “I know, but how would I be able to get off the territory? I am sure Alpha Marcus has more people watching me now to make sure I don’t run away,” I replied.
• “I can help you.” I looked up and was shocked to see Hilda standing at the door.
