Kaya's pov
After my tormented scream, everything was pin-drop silent, I couldn't even hear how badly my heart was beating. How loud my sobs were that were filled with such unruly, never-ending hopelessness. Not even the howls from the wolves of the pack that were paying respect to their alpha. I slowly lifted my head to see everyone was watching me.
A loud high pitched sound resonated throughout the woods and the wind blew, pushing the leaves to swirl in the air around me. I watched as some of the leaves on the ground were forced aside creating a type of path. Then a light surrounded the forest across from me and I winced. My eyes squinted at the now bright white light that shined through, lighting up the whole area. No one reacted to the loud sound but, me.
