Chapter 28

• The next day Anna awoke to the sun shining in her eyes, peeking through the window shades. She could hear voices downstairs and assumed Luka and Fallon were already up, raring to go. She had slept well, despite how nervous she was over the fact she couldn’t get the handsome Lycan man downstairs out of her thoughts. Fallon’s smile was intoxicating, and everything about him made her toes curl. Even in her dreams that night, she thought of him and the dirty little things she’d allow him to do to her.
• Sitting up in the bed, she rubbed her eyes with a slight giggle. “Get it together, Anna. You can’t get all hot and bothered today, lusting over the sexy Lycan. Your life is about to change and today is the next step to your future.”
• After her personal pep talk and a quick shower, she got ready for the day. As Anna stood in front of the mirror smoothing on eyeshadow, it wasn’t quite clear to her why a full day’s makeup was in order when she knew she would just throw a mask over her face, anyway. After pulling on a white dress with a wide gold metal belt, she chose one of her more modern warrior-style masks. One that covered just her nose and mouth. It was one of her favorites because it made her feel like a queen, and nod to her mother’s heritage.
