Chapter 5 Why Are You Nailed?

  • KIMBERLY'S POV
  • The door was open, but I still knocked several times. When I got no response, I walked right in.
  • I was a bit surprised. Despite being a man, his room was very organized. I thought that even if the maids cleaned it, it wouldn't look that neat.
  • I didn't see him around, and since I was always a curious person, I decided to look around.
  • I put the plate of food on the table and walked to his shelf. He had a lot of things that I couldn't even recognize.
  • I sighed. He was a dark guy. Who knew what they were for?
  • I had just touched something that looked like a trophy when a cold breeze flashed past me.
  • Before I knew it, something grabbed me by my neck, and I was lifted off the ground.
  • Looking down, I froze a little. It was a big wolf, but it was standing on only two limps.
  • I was shocked, so I didn't have the time to look at its eyes to know if it was going to kill me.
  • I began struggling against it, trying to make sounds, hoping that someone would save me.
  • Of course, I knew that the creature was the Lycan king. That was supposed to be how werewolves looked, right?
  • “Please…” I said, and a tear fell from my eyes. I thought I was going to die.
  • But suddenly, he released me. I fell to the ground with a thud.
  • It took me a while before I caught my breath. I also rubbed my bottom a bit. I was hurt from the fall.
  • But then, I felt the cold air emanating from above me. I didn't need to think twice.
  • “Don't touch my things again, or I'll chop you into pieces and feed you to my tigers,” he hissed.
  • I slowly raised my head to look at him, but the next instant, I screamed in fear.
  • “Why are you naked?” I asked and quickly covered my face. I had never expected that he would be talking to me while naked.
  • “Sh*t!” I heard him curse. He then reached over to the closet and dressed up.
  • It was only when I stopped hearing the sounds of him dressing that I looked at him again.
  • His expression was just as cold as usual. It didn't seem like a big deal to him that I had seen him naked.
  • “Pervert!” I hissed under my breath and tried to get up. I even thought that he might have gotten naked on purpose.
  • “What did you say?” He asked, his voice as cold as ice. I shivered and tried not to look at him.
  • “Um… I said that you looked cute as a wolf,” I said. I wouldn't want to offend him when he was just about to kill me a few minutes ago.
  • He didn't say anything, he just stared back at me coldly.
  • “Can you change again?” I asked. I was surprised that he didn't look as ugly as I had imagined while in his wolf form. “Um, just don't try to kill me this time…”
  • “What were you doing in here?” He asked, as though he didn't want to indulge me with my questions.
  • I sighed awkwardly and stood up. I pointed at the plate of food on his table. “I thought you were hungry. I brought you some food,” I said.
  • But I realized that his expression was getting even scarier. He took a step towards me, and I quickly backed away.
  • “Are you falling in love with me, little human?” He asked. “I told you to stay away from me. I will never feel the same about you…”
  • I widened my eyes in shock. I haven't thought that he would think like that.
  • “No, I… I…” I stammered.
  • And the scary wolf just stared back at me. His eyes were as red as blood. It kind of made me shiver.
  • “I heard about Tommy. I wanted to tell you that I didn't have anything to do with his death. I didn't even know that he came looking for me…”
  • I hadn't finished speaking when he covered the distance between me and him and pressed me against the wall.
  • Everything happened so fast. It felt like he was using magic to move.
  • “Um… I'm sorry,” I quickly apologized, praying that he wouldn't kill me this time.
  • “Don't you ever mention Tommy to me ever again,” he growled, his eyes speaking danger. I wished that I could just evaporate from the room.
  • “Okay,” I quickly nodded my head. And it was then that I realized where he was touching me.
  • His hand was pressed against my chest, and my face turned red immediately.
  • “You… you…” I said, looking at his hand.
  • He seemed to have realized it too, and he quickly pulled away his hand. He did it so fast that one would think he was being electrocuted.
  • I took a deep breath of relief. It only meant that he didn't know what he was doing.
  • “Get out of my sight!” He hissed.
  • My first thought was to run away. I wanted to get out of that room as fast as I could.
  • But I changed my mind at the last second and looked up at him. “I was just thinking that we could live peacefully, without having to fear the other. After one year, I'll be gone, and you won't see me ever again…”
  • And I saw his face turn cold again. “I don't fear you, little human. Don't you think you misspoke there?” He asked.
  • I pursed my lips and nodded. “Yeah,” I said. “I don't have to live in fear of you. We can just be friends…”
  • “You should fear me,” he cut me short and took a step towards me.
  • My back was still pressed against the wall, so I couldn't back away. I just stared back at him in fear.
  • “I don't want you as a friend. You will always be the enemy,” he said. He then pointed at the plate of food. “Now, take your crappy food, and get the hell out of my room before I tear you into pieces…”
  • He looked like he meant it this time. So I hurriedly nodded my head. I took the place of food and walked out.
  • But just at the top of the stairs, I froze a little. Gillian and her friends were downstairs.
  • When she saw me, she looked shocked. “You got to be kidding me!” She said. “How is she still alive?”
