Chapter 2 Daddy's Girl
- KIMBERLY'S POV
- I was still crying even when the fighting ended. The thought of being married at such an age made me shiver.
- I felt betrayed. I didn't know that my dad would ever do something like that to me.
- “Is she coming or not?” A man's cold voice was heard from above us.
- I trembled a little, but when I looked up, I was a bit confused.
- I looked at my dad and back at the man. He wasn't what I expected.
- My dad stood up and wrapped his arm around me. “Myles, meet my daughter, Kimberly Stone,” he said. But the man just stared at me blankly.
- My dad didn't seem bothered by his silence. He looked and me and gently squeezed my shoulder. “See? He isn't as ugly as everyone says he is. That must feel better, right?”
- I looked at the man again. Luwi, my brother, had said that the Lycan Prince was a very ugly old man.
- But the man standing in front of me seemed to be in his late twenties. He had a well-built body and muscles. His hair was white and long. He had it tied at the back of his head.
- He had put on a black fitted suit. His one hand was in his pocket.
- But what mesmerized me more was his face. He was so handsome, as though he had just been made out of wood by a craftsman who loved his work.
- As he stood there, staring back at us with his dark eyes, he looked like the god of beauty.
- But I wasn't in the mood for being charmed by his looks at that time. No matter how handsome he was, I wasn't planning to marry him.
- He looked like he was almost ten years older than me. I knew that I would be walking into an impossible marriage.
- “I don't want to go with you,” I said, refusing to let my dad go.
- “Honey,” Daddy said helplessly. “Go with him for now. I promise to come looking for you once I get all those people that killed your mom…”
- “No!” I said. “Does he know that I'm human?”
- “Honey…” Dad called, but the Lycan Prince was just standing there. It was like nothing we were talking about concerned him.
- “Hey! I'm human! Do you know that? You hate humans, right? Tell him that you can't take me back with you,” I shouted.
- But he still didn't move his lips. I would have thought that he was mute if he hadn't talked a few minutes ago.
- He waved his hand, and two of his men walked forward. They pulled me from my dad and began dragging me away.
- “Daddy!” I called, tears falling from my eyes.
- Daddy looked at me for a few seconds. He seemed sad and worried. I even thought that he would change his mind.
- After all, I couldn't remember the last time he denied me anything. He always gave me everything I asked for.
- But he slowly shook his head. “I'm sorry, honey. This is the best for you. I'll see you soon,” he said.
- He then turned and nodded at the Lycan Prince. The Lycan Prince nodded back. It seemed like they were quite acquainted.
- “Daddy… take me with you,” I said and tried to struggle.
- But he didn't look at me. He walked straight to one of the cars and drove away.
- I felt so sad and betrayed. Hot tears fell from my eyes as I watched him leave.
- When the car had disappeared and I was sure that he wasn't coming back, I looked at the Lycan Prince. I was so mad.
- “Did he tell you that I'm very dumb? I'm never going to be a good wife to you,” I said.
- “Oh? She talks a lot. It seems like she is dumb, just like the rumours,” I heard a girl's voice.
- I turned around to look, only to see a young girl, almost my age. She had a gun hanging across her shoulders and another one in her hand.
- There were several men around her, and they all burst out laughing when she spoke.
- I felt even madder at them. It was like they all rejoiced in my turmoil.
- “Daddy! Please don't leave me! Daddy, please,” one of the men said in a high-pitched voice, imitating me. The group burst out laughing again.
- One of them stepped closer to me. “Hey, Daddy's girl,” he said. “We don't do that shit back at the castle. You have to be a big girl!”
- “She is dumb! How can she be a big girl?” The girl drawled sarcastically. They all burst out laughing again.
- I felt so angry, but I knew it was useless to act at that time. There were almost ten of them. They would kill me even before I knew it.
- So I turned to look at my supposed husband. He was on a call with someone. I didn't know if he had just heard what his guys had said to me. And if he had heard them, then he didn't say anything.
- 'To think that he is going to be my husband when he won't even defend me,' I thought.
- “Bring her along,” he said the moment he finished speaking and began walking towards a certain car. It was a white Camaro.
- I scoffed, but I knew that it was time to grow up. Daddy wasn't there to spoil me anymore.
- I wiped my tears with the back of my hands and pushed away the guards who were holding me. “I can walk fine on my own,” I said.
- “Oh? She gets furious too!” One of the guys said, and they all burst out laughing. I could see them imitating me, but I didn't say anything.
- I walked to the Camaro, and a man dressed in a black suit opened the door for me.
- The Lycan Prince was already sitting on the other side. He looked straight ahead, as though my presence didn't matter.
- As we drove off, I had a lot of questions in my mind, so I guess I looked at him from time to time.
- But suddenly, he turned to look at me and held my gaze. “Stop staring,” he said coldly. “Because no matter how much you stare, I won't want anything to do with you."
- I felt so furious. He hated me. Why did he take me with him then? He should have refused to take me.
- “Nice! That makes the two of us! I don't want to have anything to do with you, either!” I shouted.
- Even the driver seemed shocked. He suddenly stepped on the brakes, and the car swayed a little. “I'm sorry, Sir!” He said, coughing awkwardly.
