• Ethan stood by the window in his room, staring outside with his phone pressed against his chest. This had been his routine for the past two weeks—locking himself away, refusing to speak to anyone except his mother. His father had been asking to see him, but Ethan wasn’t ready. He knew exactly what his father would say, and he couldn’t face it.
