Chapter 103

• Ethan couldn’t stop pacing around their bedroom. It had been a while since they returned from the hospital, and after helping Catherine settle into her room, he had thought he would finally get to spend some time with Alex. But Catherine didn’t want to let Alex leave, and once again Alex gave in to her, not even realizing how much his actions were hurting Ethan. Ethan didn’t even know what they were talking about, just that they had been together for quite some time, and he didn’t like it one bit.
• Heaving a deep breath, Ethan decided he couldn’t just sit in the room waiting for Alex to “come to his senses.” He left and headed toward Catherine’s bedroom. The door was slightly ajar, and through the gap he could see Alex sitting beside Catherine on the bed. They were talking and laughing together like old friends, and jealousy burned inside Ethan as he watched them.
