Chapter 105

• Ethan was alone in the bedroom since Alex had gone to meet some investors about the company they planned to open soon. Before leaving, Alex had asked him to help take Catherine to the hospital for her checkup, since he wasn’t sure he would be back on time. Ethan noticed the hour had come, and he sighed deeply. Though he disliked interacting with Catherine, he couldn’t refuse to take her for the appointment.
• He got out of bed, slipped on his shoes, and walked toward Catherine’s room. The door was slightly ajar, and just as he was about to knock, he heard her talking on the phone. He wouldn’t have been bothered, except he distinctly heard her mention the name Lily.
• Ethan frowned, his brows furrowing. Why would Catherine be talking to Lily? He tried convincing himself he must have misheard. Catherine couldn’t possibly be speaking to Lily—not after everything Lily had done.
