• I cut Derek off in the middle of his sentence by placing my finger on his lips. He softly placed my finger down and cradled my face, his emerald gaze fixed on mine. "I understand it's only a game. You had no choice but to do whatever was requested of you. Damn! I wouldn't say I wasn't jealous when I watched you kiss Hayley.”
• I voiced my emotions, and a slight smile tugged Derek's lips. "What? Every female feels envious when their mate kisses someone else. It just bothers me that people will continue to claim you as their own because they are unaware that we are mates,”
• “I really wish we could reveal our relationship as mates to them. I badly wish we weren't step siblings..Derek.”
