Chapter 5 Realization and The In-laws

• Zanvil woke up because his phone continued ringing. He groaned when he felt his head spinning. He knew it was because of a hangover. He shouldn't have drank so much but it was because of his best friend Nathan. He was drinking his sorrows away with him and now it's time to repay with a bloody hangover.
• When he turned around he almost jumped out of the bed. Nora was sleeping peacefully beside him and to his utter horror she was naked. The blanket barely covering her chest. She was looking so beautiful like an angel. When he looked at himself he found himself naked too.
• "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" He cursed. How could he get seduced by this woman? How could he let that happen? How did his self restraint slip away? Why did he give into the temptation?
• This woman was a true gold digger. She definitely took advantage of his drunken state. But deep down he knew it wasn't true. He knew it happened because he wanted it to but he wasn't ready to accept it. Not after knowing all those things. He knew what she was. He knew her true color and he hated her.
• He tried to remember last night's event but couldn't remember anything except making love to her. Again muttering a few curses and looking at her with a hateful gaze he went to the bathroom. After coming out and getting dressed he left for office without bothering to wake her up..
• Eleonora opened her eyes when she heard the sound of closing the bedroom door. She stared at the white ceiling blankly. Unknowingly tears ran down from her eyes. She felt empty. She knew she shouldn't feel any pain but she still did.
• His words were ringing in her mind which she heard while pretending to sleep.
• "How could I let this happen? How could I? Fuck! This all was a mistake. A big mistake."
• Why does his words hurt so much? Why did she feel like a used tissue paper? He was drunk but she wasn't. She knew she had to pay a heavy price for her love. Everyone has to pay. But in her case, she herself chose the punishment. The punishment of loving him is being a shadow till the end.
• After what felt like ages Nora quickly got up and wore her clothes from yesterday. She noticed his room was all black and white. Just like her life. She sighed. That's what she could do. Sigh.
• After changing the bedsheets and making his room she headed to her room to have a shower. She felt sore in her lower part..

• It's been 1 month and 19 days since that night. Zanvil didn't come home that much after that night. Though Nora still cooked for him and waited for him. But most of the time he didn't come.
• Sometimes she thought maybe he loved someone else and was with her. That's why he didn't come home. It made her feel bitter and upset. She knew she shouldn't expect anything from him but she couldn't help. She had given her heart to him even though he didn't want it. It was her own choice. He didn't choose her. He didn't choose their marriage. He didn't choose her heart. Maybe another one's?

• It was Sunday and luckily Zanvil was at home. Nora went near his study room and knocked. When she heard a faint come in she entered the room. Zanvil was seated on his chair and typing on his laptop.
• He looked up and saw his so-called wife was standing there. Nevertheless he went back to work ignoring her presence. Her presence didn't matter to him.
• Nora cleared her throat but he didn't look up. She sighed. Knowing that he wouldn't talk to her.
• "Your family is coming here tonight for dinner. They will come by 5 pm." She said and waited for him to say something. But alas! He still didn't say anything.
• "Do you want me to cook any spectacular dish?" She asked again but he still didn't answer. Was it so hard to talk to her? Did he hate her that much that he couldn't even look at her? She sighed at her cold behaviour.
• "I will be in the kitchen so if you want something then call me or Rose." She said softly and turned around to leave.
• But suddenly she was yanked back and next thing she knew Zanvil had her pinned on the wall. She looked at him with shocked and questioning eyes. He brought his face near her and his breath was fanning on her face.
• "Listen carefully, I don't need anything from you. So stop this act of a good and responsible wife. Because you are nothing to me and about that night it was all a huge mistake. Nothing else. I regret it." He said with gritted teeth.
• Nora smiled at him and softly said " I know. You don't have to worry." Her heart broke.
• Zanvil was shocked with her behaviour. He released her hand and took a step back.
• " I will arrange dinner." she said in a small voice and left the room.
• Zanvil watched her leaving the room. How could she be so calm? She didn't fight with him, she didn't retort back with him, she didn't punch him. Heck she didn't even cry. He never saw her cry. She didn't even cry when he had insulted her. What was she? How could a human be so emotionless?
• Eleonora was almost finished with cooking her dessert when she heard the bell ring. She knew it was her in laws.
• She quickly put her dessert in the freezer and made her way in the living room. She heard her mother in law Samantha asking for her. When she entered the room she was welcomed by a warm hug from her brother in law Zachary.
• "I missed you Ele" he said while breaking the hug.
• "I missed you too. Where's Ana?" she said to him
• "I'm here. I missed you so so much." Ana came from behind and hugged her. Nora grinned at her
• "Aww I also missed you. I'm glad you guys are here." She said while breaking the hug.
• She greeted her father in law and mother in law and chatted with them. She was really happy. They were like her true family.
• After some time Zanvil came downstairs and greeted his family.
• "Are you taking good care of my daughter?" Samantha asked her son about Nora. Nora lowered her head at her question. She didn't want her mother in law to find anything about their relationship. It would break their heart
• "Ask her If I am taking care of her or not." Zanvil said with a blank face.
• "He takes really good care of me, Mom. Don't worry." Nora butted in and gave her mother in law a fake smile.
• "If he bothers you then you just need to tell me. I will teach him a good lesson." His mother in law said with a smile. Nora laughed and nodded while Zanvil remained stoic. He didn't understand why his family loved her so much.
• Everyone was seated in the dining room and eating while having small talks. But Nora couldn't concentrate on anything. She was feeling nausea because of the smell of sausages and fish. She didn't cook those dishes but Rose did. She couldn't bear the smell of it.
• When the nausea hit her hard she quickly excused herself and started to run to the nearest washroom. She didn't even bother to answer their questions.
• After puking her guts out she came out of the washroom. She was feeling dizzy. While passing the living room she stumbled and everything started to spin around her. Before she could call anyone everything in front of her went black and she collapsed on the floor.
