Chapter 29
- Maya left Jayden at her father's house as he insisted on staying with his grandfather, she had to rush to the office as she had a lot of files to sign, she bid Jayden goodbye and told him that she would pick him up after work
- Later that day, Maya was going through some files in her office when she heard a knock on the door. She looked up to see Jason standing there, a hopeful look on his face. "Hi Maya," he said, his voice sounding tentative. "I was hoping we could talk over lunch," he said as waved his hands to bags filled with different foods. Maya took a deep breath, trying to decide what to do. She wasn't sure if she was ready to talk to Jason or ready to eat with him, but she knew that she couldn't avoid him forever. "Come in," she said, gesturing for him to take a seat. Jason sat down, his eyes never leaving Maya's face.
- He brought out the food and they started eating quietly. There was an awkward silence for a moment before Jason spoke. "I know I have a lot to make up for," he said, his voice heavy with regret. "I know I hurt you in the past, and I'm so sorry for that. But I've changed, and I want to prove to you that I'm different now. I want to show you that I'm worthy of your trust." Maya listened to his words, and she could tell that he was sincere. But she couldn't shake the doubts that were still nagging at her.
