Chapter 37 Dark Figure

• A few days had passed since Morgan left for the Balkans, and though it was fine for her, she could not help but feel the emptiness of his absence. Lilian resumed her work at the office, making herself busy in attending meetings and other business concerns to distract herself from the lingering thoughts of him. She told herself she was fine, that she did not care about him, but a part of her couldn’t shake the feeling that something was different this time.
• At home, her mother, Aurora, took over most of the household responsibilities. She spent most of her time taking care of the flowers and plants in the backyard. By doing this, she could at least forget the life she had in the Balkans. When the afternoon rolled in, she would pick Liam up from school, holding his small hand as they walked home together.
• "Mom, where’s my Daddy?" Liam suddenly asked. "Do I have a Daddy?"
