Chapter 11 The Prophecy
- Morgan paced restlessly in his chamber, his thoughts spinning in disbelief. Aurora’s revelation that Lilian was carrying his child echoed in his mind, a truth he hadn’t anticipated. How could this be? He had only shared one night with her, a moment of vulnerability and passion he thought would pass without consequence. And yet, here he was, facing the reality of her pregnancy.
- A wave of conflicted emotions surged through him. The idea of having a child with Lilian, of all people, was impossible to grasp. He could not accept having a child with someone whose bloodline was cursed, a woman whose very existence was tainted by dark magic that had been passed down through the generations.
- More than that, how could he ever forgive her for killing his and Samantha's child? The thought twisted like a dagger in his chest, reopening wounds he had tried to bury deep. That loss haunted him every day, and now Lilian—a woman he blamed for the death of his child—was expecting another. His child. The bitter irony of it all stoked the flames of his anger.
