Chapter 539 Car Accident

Diane was torn apart by her conclusion. Before this, she always believed that Christopher loved her. Otherwise, he wouldn't have almost lost his life for her sake. If he truly did love her, then he must have been basked in happiness just like she did. Whenever she was with him, even the air she breathed felt sweet to her.
But, what happened today destroyed her, as she realized that he was in such misery when he was with her. It was to the point that he'd rather forget her in order to save himself. Was it just because he thought I betrayed him? Surely not. She knew that he must have accumulated all those emotions over an extended period and that incident was merely the last straw that broke the camel's back.
It turned out that it was all just wishful thinking on her part. She thought she brought him joy and happiness, but it was really misery she brought. If that was the case, she knew she was left with no reason to continue dwelling on it. Tearfully, she loosened her grip and squatted on the floor as her knees went weak.
