Chapter 479 Competition

  • "You seem to be in high spirits, President Wayne. I believe you must have managed to handle the things related to your father," Wilcox commented the moment he sat down. There were other people who shared the same table as them, so Christopher approached the other man with a civil attitude. "Thank you for your concern, President Jensen. I can't remain in my suffering forever now that he's gone—I have to care for my wife and child, after all."
  • Diane shuddered when she saw Christopher giving her a gentle gaze. He's probably saying all of this for the sake of Wilcox. He's being extra romantic. This guy is so… childish. She couldn't be bothered to respond to him, so she simply lowered her head to play her role as a pleasant and obedient woman. Everyone at the table was an experienced businessperson, so they were all careful with the way they presented themselves. After the dinner started, the atmosphere at the table remained pleasant as everyone munched on their food while chatting. No one could tell if anyone had beef with any other person at the table.
  • Since Diane didn't take alcohol, she asked for a glass of juice instead. Christopher was around to watch over her so no one invited her to drink. She simply sat beside Christopher while munching on her food obediently, feeling rather liberated not to have anyone look at her. The highlight of the event came after their dinner. Since they were at a charity dinner, most of them had already expected to throw out some of their money. The organizing committee was hosting a mini-auction that mainly sold some of Galaxy Enterprise's CEO, Albert Proust's personal items.
