• Elzar nodded slowly, as if he believed Dalia’s words. However, deep inside, doubt still lingered. The look on her face clearly suggested that she was hiding something. And the more she tried to cover it up, the more convinced Elzar became that something was wrong.
• Not long after, Elzar’s car entered Dalia’s neighborhood. He drove through the blocks until he finally arrived at a modest house at the end of the street.
• After parking his car in a safe spot, Elzar stepped out and opened the door for Dalia. With swift movements, he took Amara into his arms—she was still fast asleep—while Dalia walked ahead to unlock the door to her house.
