• “No, Doctor,” Dalia replied calmly, her voice flat though there was a slight tension she tried to conceal.
• For a moment, the doctor’s expression shifted. Disappointment and sadness etched across his face as he lowered his head briefly before looking back at Dalia.
• “That’s unfortunate,” he said softly, his tone filled with regret. “I need to discuss something important with her father as well. Hasn’t he returned from work yet?”
