• "What has you deep in thought?" Annie inquired from her spot across the room. Emerald glanced over and noticed a newfound excitement sparkling around her friend.
• "Nothing much," Emerald replied as silence filled the space between them. She approached Annie. "Could you help me with my zipper, please?" Once Annie had obliged, Emerald continued, "Are you all set to go?"
• "I'm a bit on edge. This will be my first time confessing my feelings to someone. What if he turns me down?"
