• Emer briefly stunned, trying to process the audacious words that had just been spoken. Upon seeing her reaction, the man released her, stepping back with a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes.
• Overcome with a fluster and feeling an uncomfortable warmth spreading throughout her body, Emerald instinctively scratched the side of her neck, her mind still reeling from the unexpected remark. The man, seemingly content to leave his bold statement hanging in the air, appeared to be waiting for her reaction.
• Internally, Emerald heaved a dramatic sigh. What could possibly be said in response? The English substitute teacher had just admitted, quite boldly, his desire to kiss her.
