Emerald had not anticipated that her mother would approach the principal to voice her concerns, but to her surprise, she did. The principal, a figure who was seldom seen, actually listened to her mother's grievances. As a result, the investigations related to the situation were temporarily halted, and no classes were scheduled after eleven o'clock. It felt unusual, as one would typically expect school to proceed as normal on a day like this.
