• A few hours later, in the hospital where Lia was undergoing further examination, Rania sat in the waiting room with Aleksander, Isabel, and Arkan, everyone still trying to process the huge shock they had just discovered about the existence of Lia's twin sister, someone no one had ever known about. The fluorescent lights of the waiting room flickered faintly now and then. The atmosphere was so quiet, except for the sound of a nurse's footsteps passing by occasionally, a contrast so calming after the chaos they had just been through at that old factory.
• "How could Lia herself not know she has a twin sister?" Isabel asked, confusion so clearly written on her face. She sat with her knees pulled up to her chest, hugging herself as if trying to protect herself from the terrifying truth that had just been revealed tonight.
