Chapter 22 A Familiar Face
- Rania followed Aleksander down the stairs with steps growing heavier each time they drew closer to the security room downstairs, a bad feeling settling in her chest for a reason she couldn't explain. The head of security walked ahead of them, his face still holding a strange hesitation, as though reluctant to be the one delivering news they were about to witness for themselves.
- The corridor leading to the security room felt longer than usual, every step echoing on the cold marble floor, and Rania could feel Aleksander's hand gripping hers tightly, as though preparing to support her if whatever they were about to see inside that room turned out to be too heavy to bear alone.
- The security room door opened, revealing a man sitting bound to a metal chair, his head hung low, his clothes dirty and torn in several places from the earlier fight. When the man looked up hearing the approaching footsteps, Rania felt her entire world collapse in a split second.
