Chapter 35 Into The Lair

  • The warehouse was dark and damp, the smell of rust and rotting wood filling the air as soon as Rania stepped inside through the large door that creaked terrifyingly. Her footsteps echoed on the empty concrete floor, every sound feeling so loud amidst the gripping silence. Her heart beat so fast that she was certain anyone hiding inside could hear it, her hands gripping the small safe tightly, the only remaining anchor to maintain her sanity amidst such a gripping fear.
  • “I am here,” she called out, her voice trembling although she tried hard to sound firm. “I brought what you asked for.”
  • Her voice echoed throughout the empty room, bouncing off the rusted metal walls, making the atmosphere feel even more gripping. There was no immediate answer, only a silence that lasted long enough to make Rania's heart beat even more wildly.
