• “Let Dane go. Divorce him and come back to having the dream life you've always dreamt about.” The words of her mother couldn't stop ringing in her head despite it being the second day since her visit. Alexia had tried so hard not to think too much about her mother's visit. But the loneliess at home suddenly caused her to think of it at the moment.
• It was still very much surprising to her that her mother could not just think of coming to visit her alone, but also to talk her out of the marriage she had slowly come to start loving. It was greatly absurd for her to think it would be so easy for her to leave Dane and just waltz back home.
• “Did you in any way forget that I lost my virginity to him, the same man you both begged me to marry?” She remembered questioning her mother. “What would become of me if I leave him into another marriage after loosing it? Is there any man who would respect me after that?”
