• The disdainful looks and snide comments from Caia only seemed to intensify. The beautiful redhead did not attempt to veil her dislike for me, glaring venomously whenever I entered the same space. She reminded me of Daniella and Tricia, and they would certainly get along well.
• At first, I tried to ignore her childish antagonism, focusing instead on bonding with Maya, Nisha, Zara and the other pack members who had welcomed me warmly. But Caia's burning resentment was like a stubborn spark that steadily ignited a raging fire of bitterness between us.
