Chapter 21 – Call Her Stepmother

• Gabriel found himself in bed by himself the next morning.
• Rosalie was gone, perhaps preparing for their outing. He hurried into the bathroom to take a long bath. He dried his ink-black hair thoroughly and, feeling completely at ease, strolled back into his bedroom, a bath towel slung loosely around his waist.
• Sensing that there was someone in his bedroom, he tensed in his movements. It was obviously not his rose, too. He removed the bath towel from his head gradually, and as he turned to face the person in front of him, he recognized Teri as one of Rosalie's maids. How strange!
