Chapter 74

• The entire two hours went into meeting some interesting as well as some pain in the ass people. I had to keep a straight face while talking with them because I had to bring myself up in the business again. At first, Scarlett stood next to me happily enjoying the attention she was getting from the men but after a while, she left to take some air. I didn't miss the look she gave to the man who followed her soon. I knew what was happening in the air she went to take but as long as she stays away from me, I don't mind what the fuck she does. Scarlett did ask me to dance with her but I simply denied it. Not minding my harsh behavior, she smiled and then walked over to the same guy who looked overjoyed to dance with her. The whole wearing a mask thing didn't go well with me. It was the first time, I had worn a mask and it was irritating the hell out of me. Something tied around your eyes and you have to act normal when you already have a hard time doing it, it was irritated. I couldn't wait to get over with it.
• Wanting something to drink, I excused myself and walked over to the bar. I noticed that there was a woman sitting on one of the table with her hands fidgeting. She had worn a mask that matched her silky purple floor-length dress. I walked and stood next to her but she had her head down and her black hair was falling over her side which made her hide her face very well. Realizing that I've been staring at a woman, I told the bartender to give me a drink. All the annoying talking and the foul breath of the guy, who I wanted to have business with, made me nauseous.
• "Here you go, sir." The man handed me my drink.
