Chapter 18 Don't Go

• I remained silent, swallowing dryly and staring at him. "It's a joke, right?" I asked again with trepidation.
• He laughed. "You should see the scared look on your face right now," he said, pointing at me. "But I made you a promise, Leia. One interview and you will leave. I won't keep you here by force," he warned. But after a few seconds he took a deep breath and returned his steady gaze to mine. "Of course, I don't know how long it will take to finish this interview. It could be a few days, a week, or months.... I have a lot to tell."
• "No," I said, stopping him immediately. "You can't do that. The interview can't take that long, it's impossible," I claimed. "I have a life out there! A job! A home!" I insisted. "I can't just leave it all up in the air and disappear. While I'm in here, the whole world is still out there," I pointed out.
