Chapter 69
- I scowled at what I had seen my friend break down. I felt guilty because Frank had been like that for six years. Even though he never really exhibited his feelings, he virtually submerged himself in alcohol, a look of regret crossing his face. Would he sink into that pool of despair again?
- "Have you told her everything?" I asked once Frank's sobbing had ceased.
- "I have. well, not everything. I mean, I was the one who was supposed to save and protect her. I was her husband for crying out loud. I won't blame this on other people's stupidity," Frank spat, his voice hoarse and his eyes swollen from crying. Whatever excuse he may have gave him no comfort. it was still an excuse. The thing was that he had failed Lydia and now he was paying the price.
