Chapter 60

  • My heart pounded in anticipation as I stood outside the Josephs mansion waiting for the doors to open. I couldn't believe it—I was going to see my children again for the first time. It was a dream, a miracle, and a second chance all rolled into one.
  • A few days had passed since the mock ceremony. The news of Dera Pete's fraud and flight had gone viral. Each person was amazed at finding the reality about her. I even had put a reward on her head. I wanted to arrest Dera in the earliest possible opportunity for the sake of my close ones. Petes were also put under observation incase they have hidden their child, but still, after attempting their farms as well as going around the whole city, no Dera.
  • "Diane, you'll be able to see them when I recover fully. I can take them on your behalf now," my sister Diane proposed. She had briefly gone back to the Lanka mansion to look after me after I had been discharged from the hospital. My own doctor continued to visit every few hours to change my bandages and administer my medication.
